Although the maximum building envelope allows for an elongated structure, the decision was made to develop two detached building volumes containing a total of 12 apartments. This layout preserves clear sightlines to the vast green space, situated behind the site. At the same time, it transitions the large-scale urban grain found to the east of the site into a scale that better aligns with the residential development to the west. As the site is located in a flood prone area, both buildings are elevated, with parking provided at ground level.
The structures feature solid masonry walls interspersed with large windows. These freestanding walls span all three stories and serve as structural elements, extending above the roofline. They read as distinct, independent elements. Consequently, the structural logic translates into an expressive facade composition that moves away from the stark dichotomy between a parking plinth and the residential upper levels.
