The existing villa is registered as a monument and clearly represents the architectural principles of ‘modernity’ that the former, architectural firm Konstrukto used in its designs, in particular the flat roofs, white-painted brick construction, visible supporting structures and the balanced ratio of closed and open surfaces. Large glass areas spanning the height of the facade ensure an optimal relationship between inside and outside.
The villa was built in 1969 for and by architect Georges Vandenbussche. After years of disrepair, the house was in need of urgent renovation. Some structural work was carried out and the interior was adapted to contemporary comfort requirements, consciously keeping the initial design in mind.
