The city council wants a new multipurpose party hall to be erected on the existing Trax site. Due to some new urban developments, the focus of this site will be located on the southwest side of the property, at the intersection of the main avenue and the park. This section will serve as a visual landmark to both the site and the recreational trail. We therefore propose the party hall to be pushed to the edge of the canopy, thereby raising visibility from both the street and the park. In addition, the building can thus take full advantage of natural daylight (STEP 1). In order to maximize flexibility and versatility of the hall, we push the existing canopy up, thereby creating a free height of 10 meter inside the hall. In addition, the undulating movement of the existing roof is accentuated and the new hall becomes a visual landmark in the landscape (STEP 2). The building is constructed in a particularly simple, efficient and readable way, consisting of 4 functional volumes that are pushed together (foyer / logistics / multipurpose hall / logistics) (STEP 3). The building is materialized in a robust and maintenance-friendly way. In addition, the forecourt is made more accessible by means of wide stairs and a ramp (STEP 4).
